Trey Sermon expected to get ‘bulk of the carries’ Sunday night vs. Packers

According to 49ers sources, rookie RB Trey Sermon is expected to get the “bulk of the carries” in Week 3 vs. the Packers with Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) not likely to play. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Sermon cleared the concussion protocol this week after a nasty hit in Week 2 vs. the Eagles on his only snap of the game. He’s the healthiest and longest-tenured “healthy” running back on this team, so the 49ers are likely to showcase him on Sunday night. Recall, San Francisco traded up in the Draft to get Sermon, so this could be a huge spot tonight in learning if he can shoulder the load moving forward.
