Deebo Samuel erupts for 156 yards and two scores

by Jon Mathisen | 49ers Correspondent | Sun, Oct 3rd 11:28pm EDT

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel hauled in 8-of-12 targets for 156 yards and two touchdowns while adding one yard on the ground in a 28-21 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Samuel led San Francisco in targets for the fourth straight week while grabbing eight balls for 156 yards, his second-highest mark of the season. His first touchdown catch came on a busted coverage play where he was wide open near the sideline. He sprinted 76 yards for the score and was untouched. His second TD grab, an eight-yard strike from Trey Lance, came with less than two minutes in the fourth quarter. It's worth noting that Jimmy Garoppolo injured his calf in the first half and Trey Lance took over under center in the second half. Samuel should be penciled in as a WR1 for a Week 5 title against division rival Arizona, regardless of who is under center for the 49ers. Through four games, he's snagged 28 balls for 490 yards and three touchdowns.
