San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk hauled in 2-for-4 targets for 32 scoreless yards in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
The 49ers couldn't get much going through the air on Sunday with rookie quarterback Trey Lance under center. Aiyuk snagged half of his targets for 32 yards, which was third on the team to Deebo Samuel's 58 and Kyle Juszczyk's 35 yards. It's been an awfully slow season for the Arizona State product, who spent time in Kyle Shanahan's dog house and has done little with the limited targets he's seen up to this point. Through five weeks he has just eight catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. Brighter days should be ahead following San Francisco's bye.
