Houston Texans don't intend to hire Jonathan Gannon

by Andersen Pickard | Texans Correspondent | Sun, Feb 6th 3:56pm EST

The Texans' list of finalists for their head coaching vacancy has been trimmed down once again. USA TODAY's Josina Anderson reports that Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon was informed that he won't be receiving the job. (Josina Anderson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Gannon was one of three finalists for Houston's vacancy. Now, that leaves just Brian Flores and Josh McCown in the running. While Flores has far more coaching experience, he's currently in a legal battle with the NFL and has also drawn interest from other teams. Reports have also indicated that the Texans are very intrigued by McCown, the former NFL quarterback who has been coaching his sons' high school team. There's no set date for an official announcement from the organization, but removing Gannon from the list of finalists implies that a decision could arrive sooner rather than later.
