Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon carried the ball 15 times for 72 yards and added one yard on five receptions in a 23-20 loss to the Rams in Super Bowl LVI. Mixon also threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Tee Higgins in the second quarter.
Mixon pieced together a decent game but wasn't on the field for Cincy's final two plays of the contest as the Bengals instead turned to Samaje Perine. His evening was salvaged by his touchdown pass, which came on a trick play in the second quarter. Mixon's 2021 will be remembered as the season where he finally capitalized on all of his potential. Locked into a workhorse role for the Bengals, Mixon will be a solid RB1 in 2022.
