Sterling Shepard asked to take pay cut

The New York Giants have reportedly asked Sterling Shepard to take a significant pay cut this offseason. (Ryan Dunleavy on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Shepard is currently scheduled to count for over $12 million against the cap this upcoming season. It is not clear how much of a pay cut Shepard is being asked to take, but it could be close to the league minimum. The Giants could save roughly $4 million in cap space by releasing him, which is possible if Shepard does not agree to take the pay cut. As part of a fairly crowded offense when everyone is healthy on this Giants offense, Shepard could possibly benefit from a change in scenery from a fantasy football perspective.
