After using the franchise tag on WR Chris Godwin, the team decided to let veteran CB Carlton Davis hit the open market to get a sense of his market value. The team was unwilling to meet on a contract or willing to tag the CB which would cost them slightly over $17 million this season. Last season, Davis recorded 33 tackles, 11 pass breakups, one interception, and had one fumble recovery.
