Marshon Lattimore's contract restructured by Saints

by Andersen Pickard | Saints Correspondent | Sat, Mar 12th 9:29am EST

The Saints have restructured cornerback Marshon Lattimore's contract in an effort to create cap relief. By turning his base salary into a signing bonus, New Orleans freed up an impressive $18.45 million in cap space. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Once again, the Saints are in a brutal financial situation, but they should be able to find themselves in the positive heading into free agency. Lattimore's big restructuring is the first step towards financial flexibility for the Saints. This past season, the cornerback totaled three interceptions, 19 passes defended, 68 tackles, and one fumble recovery. He has made the Pro Bowl in four of five seasons since joining the league and is a critical piece of the New Orleans secondary.
