Travis Etienne cleared to practice (Lisfranc injury)

by Sam Ryner | Jaguars Correspondent | Mon, May 23rd 11:41pm EDT

While speaking with the media on Monday, Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said that RB Travis Etienne has been cleared for all practice activity heading into the team's OTAs after he missed all of the 2021 season due to a Lisfranc injury. (Pro Football Talk)

Fantasy Impact:

Early offseason reports indicated that Etienne was on track to be ready to practice by training camp, but it appears he was able to beat that timeline and return to the field prior to the Jaguars’ OTAs. The extra time on the practice field will be important for Etienne as he prepares for his first NFL action under a new head coach. Etienne, who was a 1st round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has an opportunity for a significant amount of touches early in the season while RB James Robinson continues to recover from a torn Achilles. Assuming he stays healthy, with him being a strong receiving RB out of the backfield and potentially having the opportunity to lead the team in carries, Etienne offers big upside and seems to be in a position to outproduce his current market value as a 5th round pick in fantasy drafts.
