Lamar Jackson absent from Ravens’ OTAs

by Sam Ryner | Ravens Correspondent | Wed, May 25th 5:04pm EDT

According to multiple league sources, Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is not in attendance for the team's OTAs as the former MVP enters the final year of his rookie contract. (Pro Football Talk)

Fantasy Impact:

Jackson's absence from OTAs marks the first time in his career that he has missed voluntary offseason workouts. The Ravens have exercised Jackson’s fifth-year option which will pay him over $23 million in 2022, but they have been unsuccessful in signing the QB to a long-term extension. Ravens GM Eric DeCosta has started multiple times that the team has attempted to engage in contract negotiations with Jackson, but the QB hasn't been interested in participating in discussions. Jackson has indicated that he still wants to play for Baltimore and he isn't expected to hold out or miss games. Jackson and the Ravens won't have WR Hollywood Brown after he was traded to the Cardinals during the NFL draft, but Jackson is still firmly within QB1 territory heading into 2022, largely due to his elite rushing ability for the position.
