Carson Wentz shows inconsistency in practice

by Jordan Epp | Chiefs Correspondent | Tue, Aug 2nd 3:37pm EDT

According to Mike Kaye of ProFootballTalk, Carson Wentz and the other QBs for the Washington Commanders struggled during team drills in training camp. (Mike Kaye, ProFootballNetwork)

Fantasy Impact:

Kaye writes that Wentz struggled with accuracy during the team's drills, mixing in big throws with bouts of missing receivers. However, Kaye does mention the adage that strong defenses tend to outperform offenses early in training camp. Wentz is new to the team and was missing WR Terry McLaurin for much of the offseason. While the prospect of Wentz in fantasy may seem unattractive, he has finished no worse than QB24 in his career with recent finishes of QB10 in 2019 and QB13 in 2021. He should be on the radar as a QB2 in superflex leagues with weapons like McLaurin and rookie WR Jahan Dotson at his disposal, and he's only going on average as QB26.
