Mark Andrews will not play in first preseason game Thursday

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh announced that tight end Mark Andrews will not play in Baltimore’s first preseason game against the Titans on Thursday night according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The move is said to be precautionary and not indicative of an injury. Andrews is sitting along with many other “experienced starters”, including quarterback Lamar Jackson, to limit their workload and get others reps in this shortened preseason. Andrews did reportedly get his foot stepped on at some point during Saturday’s practice which kept him out of the remaining drills but that is not believed to have anything to do with the preplanned DNP for Thursday. Mark Andrews figures to be the top receiving option in Baltimore this season and should be overall TE1-1A with Kansas City’s Travis Kelce.
