Kevin Harris finds end zone in pro debut

by Andersen Pickard | Patriots Correspondent | Thu, Aug 11th 10:42pm EDT

Patriots rookie running back Kevin Harris rushed six times for nine yards and one touchdown during Thursday's preseason opener against the Giants. He also hauled in one of two targets for negative two yards through the air. New England ultimately lost to New York on a field goal as time expired. The final score was 23-21.

Fantasy Impact:

Harris is one of many moving parts in the New England backfield. With James White retiring and Damien Harris a candidate to be traded, every running back on the depth chart is working to carve out a key role. Harris has strong legs and projects as someone who could offer tremendous goal-line upside. He remains in competition with J.J. Taylor, veteran Ty Montgomery, and fellow rookie Kevin Harris for a role behind Rhamondre Stevenson (and Damien Harris).
