Joshua Kelley makes case for No. 2 RB spot

by Dan Lovi | Chargers Correspondent | Sun, Aug 14th 1:08am EDT

Los Angeles Chargers running back Joshua Kelley flourished on limited touches Saturday night in the team's first preseason game of 2022. He started the contest and finished with 16 rushing yards on three carries, adding 28 yards on three catches.

Fantasy Impact:

Kelley, who got the start over rookie Isaiah Spiller and second-year RB Larry Rountree III, was a key component of the Chargers' opening drive that resulted in a touchdown. He ran the ball twice and caught two passes for 28 total yards on the initial drive, including an 11-yard reception on third-and-6 to keep the offense on the field. The third-year back saw just 33 carries last season and will need to stave off Spiller for the backup spot to Austin Ekeler, a valuable role for fantasy should Ekeler miss any time this season.
