Jimmy Garoppolo is practicing with the 49ers for the first time this season following offseason trade attempts according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Garoppolo and the 49ers have finally agreed on a contract restructuring for the quarterback. The reworked deal is for one year/$7 million and worth up to $16 million with incentives. Garoppolo will enter the season as Trey Lance’s backup but has yet to practice with the team, with conventional wisdom being he would be playing elsewhere. It remains to be seen if Garoppolo’s presence will be a distraction to Lance and the rest of the team for that matter.
