Michael Carter might not be in line for the RB1 role as suspected. Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon was non-committal with his running backs roles for Week 5, saying “they all have their roles.” (Josh Weinfuss on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Carter was a hot waiver pickup leading up to the weekend, now it’s not looking so hot. While it’s a discouraging statement from Gannon, he’s still ultimately played his running backs in specific roles since becoming HC in Arizona, so it’s still likely Carter is the primary bruiser and Emari Demarcado is the pass catching specialist. Both are in flex territory this Sunday.
