Kiko Alonso moves on to Miami

by Reginald James | Wed, Mar 9th 11:55am EST

The trade between the Eagles and the Dolphins involving corner Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso stalled for a bit because of concerns about Maxwell's shoulder. The parties have now agreed on the trade which includes an exchange of first-round draft picks. The Eagles get Miami's 8th overall pick, while Miami moves down to 13. (Palm Beach Post)

Fantasy Impact:

This trade is built on the fumes of promise. In 2013 Kiko Alonso had 159 tackles ranking third overall in the NFL his rookie season, but has been hampered by injuries since. He missed all of 2014 with a knee injury, and still seemed to be bothered by it last season. The Dolphins are paying Alonso less than a million to see which version they're getting, so there's that.
