Keenan Allen sets eyes on being a top-5 wide receiver

by Paul Alan | Bears Correspondent | Tue, Jul 12th 1:57pm EDT

Keenan Allen was on pace for a monster year in 2015 before going down with a season ending kidney injury. His 130 reception pace would have been record breaking. However, those numbers stemmed from the Chargers being without reception-hog Antonio Gates for the first four weeks of the year and a non-existent running game. Regardless, Keenan Allen claims that he is a top-5 WR. "No debating." (Keenan Allen on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

One thing we know for sure is that the San Diego Chargers will throw the ball often. And Keenan Allen is their number one weapon in the passing game. However, the addition of speedy wideout Travis Benjamin and the focus on getting the running game going could diminish some of his target numbers. Regardless, he is a reliable low-end WR1 who could blossom into a fantasy stud. Despite being ranked as our 12th WR in ECR, he is being slightly undervalued in drafts as the 15th WR coming off the boards.
