DeAndre Hopkins talks potential long-term extension with Houston

by Anthony Cervino | Titans Correspondent | Sun, Jul 24th 2:53pm EDT

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins is entering the final two years of his rookie deal as one of the NFL's brightest young star wide receivers. During a recent sit-down with ESPN's Tania Ganguli, Hopkins said "I just want to be treated for what I'm worth" in regards a new long-term deal with the club. When asked if there was any movement in negotiations on a new deal, Hopkins replied, "You know, that's between my agents and the Texans. I love this city. I don't want to play anywhere else but here. So the rest will work itself out, hopefully." (NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

DeAndre Hopkins is entering his fourth season in the NFL coming off of a career year. In 2015, Hopkins appeared in all 16 games and caught 111 targets for 1,521 and 11 touchdowns including six 100-yard receiving games. Hopkins should be considered a high-end WR1 who will likely be one of the first wideouts selected in the draft. He could have an even bigger year in 2016 if Brock Osweiler becomes the talent that the Texans paid him to be.
