LeGarrette Blount to be New England's workhorse in 2016

New England Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount appears to be in control of his own destiny as the team's workhorse rusher in 2016. Running back's coach Ivan Fears spoke to the Boston Herald on what Blount needs to do to remain the team's lead back in the upcoming season. “I want to see the LeGarrette I know that can be a dominant player when he’s playing up to his stuff. I want to see him get back to that. He’s been hurt. He’s been away from us. There’s a lot of opportunity there for him. Let’s see what he can do,” Fears said. “There’s gotta be some consistency to his play. There’s got to be production. And, of course, a guy with his size, there’s gotta be some physicalness. All that’s important." (The Boston Herald)

Fantasy Impact:

LeGarrette Blount is entering his seventh season in the NFL and is expected to be the workhorse of the New England Patriots' backfield. Blount is coming off of an injury-shortened season in 2015. He appeared in 12 contests and rushed for 703 yards and six touchdowns adding another score as a receiver in the passing game. In the upcoming fantasy football campaign, Blount should be considered a mid-range RB2 who's upside rides primarily on his health and ball security. He will be New England's goal line/ short yardage back and should receive plenty of opportunities to score inside the five.
