Stevan Ridley uninspiring in Lions' preseason debut

Journeyman running back Stevan Ridley didn't do much with his first carries as a Detroit Lion, totaling just 14 yards on five carries, and catching his lone target for five yards.

Thought to have an inside track to make Detroit's fifty-three man roster after signing an $840,000 contract with $250,000 guaranteed, Ridley is at risk of falling behind undrafted free agents George Winn and Zach as he's had a lackluster showing in camp and against the Steelers. The next few preseason games are significant opportunities for Ridley to prove his worth in the Lions' backfield, and fantasy owners should avoid him until his role is secured.
