Tony Romo exits game against Seahawks with back injury

by Anthony Cervino | Thu, Aug 25th 11:02pm EDT

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) exited Thursday's preseason contest against the Seattle Seahawks with a back injury after only three plays. Romo completed his only pass attempt of the night for 11 yards and was sacked once in his short time on the field. ESPN's Todd Archer is reporting that Romo was able to return to the game, however, he is being held out due to a coaches' decision. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

It is just the preseason, but if this is a sign of what's to come in the regular season, the Dallas Cowboys must be sure that they are comfortable with Dak Prescott as Romo's backup in 2016. Romo is reported to have experienced tightness in his back, which is what caused him to exit the game, and although he could return to the contest, he is being held out for precautionary reasons. Prescott suddenly is gaining fantasy relevance in the upcoming campaign as the Romo injury-scare begins in August.
