Ben Roethlisberger won't play Thursday against the Panthers

by Robert Kohnfelder | Tue, Aug 30th 3:37pm EDT

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that QB Ben Roethlisberger will be among the many starters held out of Thursday's fourth and final preseason contest. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

Fantasy Impact:

This hardly comes as a shock, but there are a few teams planning to give their starters a couple of reps during the fourth week of preseason. Roethlisberger appeared to be in mid-season form in the Steelers' third preseason game, throwing for 148 yards and two touchdowns in his only two drives of the night. Look for Roethlisberger to be healthy and ready to go for Pittsburgh's Week 1 Monday night matchup against the Redskins, where he'll be a no-brainer QB1 in fantasy.
