Russell Wilson hurts knee in Week 3 blowout

by Adam Inman | Steelers Correspondent | Sun, Sep 25th 8:48pm EDT

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson completed 15 of 23 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown in a 37-18 victory over the visiting San Francisco 49ers. Wilson was outstanding from the first whistle, and didn't show any signs of his high ankle sprain when moving around the pocket. Unfortunately, Wilson got his left leg rolled up on in the 3rd quarter and never returned, rookie Trevone Boykin replaced him though the game was all but over at that point.

Fantasy Impact:

Fantasy owners had to be shaking their heads as Wilson appeared to suffer almost an identical injury to the other leg this week, and it was especially rough as he was playing so well. Spectators saw Wilson get fitted for a knee brace on the sidelines, and fantasy owners will want to closely monitor the situation as Seattle prepares to play the New York Jets and their stout front seven in Week 4.
