Devonta Freeman totals over 200 yards in MNF victory

by Jacob Ciesla | Tue, Sep 27th 9:01am EDT

Devonta Freeman came to play on MNF, tallying 207 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. Freeman had 14 carries for 152 yards and had five receptions (five targets) for another 55 yards and a receiving touchdown.

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman didn't get the goal line work, as fellow RB Tevin Coleman scored three touchdowns, but the overall workload for Freeman didn't suffer as he took advantage of all 19 touches. With Julio Jones getting most of the attention from the Saints defense, Freeman led the team in receptions and yards as well as leading the team in carries and rushing yards. This was the type of performance we saw from Freeman last year that made him the number one RB in fantasy football. The amount of touches and effectiveness from Freeman was a great sign for the future despite playing against the Saints. It seems the Falcons will use both RBs effectively throughout the season so you shouldn't worry about starting both Freeman or Coleman.
