Bobby Rainey

Bobby Rainey with 65 total yards in Week 4 loss

by Nick Ritrivi | Tue, Oct 4th 10:33am EDT

As part of the Giants' Week 4 RBBC, Bobby Rainey ran for 22 yards on four carries and added 43 yards on seven receptions in the Giants' 24-10 loss to Minnesota. Rainey was targeted a team-high nine times (tied with Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham) as he filled in as the passing-down back with Shane Vereen out.

Fantasy Impact:

Rainey didn't look too bad filling in for Vereen but he did miss at least one assignment frustrating Eli Manning. He will likely be part of the Giants' RBBC while Rashad Jennings remains sidelined with a hand injury. When Jennings returns, he could continue to fill in for Shane Vereen as the third-down/passing-down back, but it's likely Orleans Darkwa and Paul Perkins will take carries/snaps away from him as well. At this point, he is not worth a roster spot in standard sized leagues.
