Brandon LaFell

Brandon LaFell with seven catches for 91 yards

by Tom Williams | Mon, Dec 19th 10:47am EST

Brandon LaFell hauled in seven passes for 91 yards but failed to find the end zone in Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. LaFell led all Bengals receivers with nine targets and his longest catch went for 25 yards. Late in the first quarter, he drew a penalty on a deep ball in the end zone when a Steelers defender interfered with him. The play setup a one-yard touchdown plunge by Andy Dalton on fourth and goal.

Fantasy Impact:

The always tough and reliable veteran remains the primary outside target for quarterback Andy Dalton while A.J. Green recovers from a hamstring injury. Clearly, LaFell is not quite the difference maker that Green is. He has yet to produce any 100-yard games so far this season yet he is tied with tight end Tyler Eifert for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with five. LaFell’s value will take a hit when A.J. Green returns to action. Green is expected to return against the Houston Texans on Saturday.
