Kerryon Johnson (knee) is expected to miss time and is considered week to week. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: There are a few directions the Lions might go with their backfield while Johnson is out. The first option would be Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic to share the backfield duties. Another idea that makes sense is to bring back C.J. Anderson. Finally, Detroit could trade for a running back like Kenyan Drake.

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is officially active for the team's Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. (Source: Mark Daniels on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Edelman has been dealing with a chest injury and was listed as questionable, but he was never really in any danger of missing this game. He caught nine of his 15 targets for 113 yards last week and should be in line for a similar workload on Monday night.

Patriots wide receiver Phillip Dorsett is officially active for the team's Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets on Monday. (Source: Mark Daniels on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Dorsett missed last week's game against the Giants with a hamstring but could be in for an increased role with fellow wideout Josh Gordon sitting out Monday night's game.

Jets tight end Chris Herndon is officially inactive for the team's Week 7 matchup against the New England Patriots. (Source: New York Jets on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Herndon has yet to suit up this season after serving a suspension and then suffering a hamstring injury in practice. He will have a chance to suit up for the team's Week 8 matchup against the Jaguars in Jacksonville.

Patriots running back Damien Harris is active for the team's Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. (Source: Mike Reiss on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Harris is active for just the second time this season, but he did not see any touches in Week 3 when he was active against this same Jets team.

Patriots running back Rex Burkhead is officially inactive for the team's Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football due to a foot injury. (Source: Mike Reiss on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Burkhead will miss his third straight game with a foot injury. Sony Michel, James White, Damien Harris, and Brandon Bolden are all active and could see touches with Burkhead still out.

New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley is officially active for the team's Week 7 matchup against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. (Source: Brian Costello on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Mosley has missed New York's last four games with a groin injury but was able to practice this week and is active for the divisional tilt against the Patriots and should be an added boost to a defense that has already been playing well in recent weeks.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh says he is "optimistic" that Marquise Brown (ankle) will return in Week 9. (Source: Jamison Hensley on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Ravens have a bye in Week 8. Brown's shine faded a bit before his latest injury but it's reasonable to assume he will be more effective following this long layoff. However, fantasy owners might want to sit him his first game back as Baltimore will be playing the Patriots.

Seattle Seahawks tight end Jacob Hollister tied for third on the team in both targets and receptions in Week 7, finishing with a 3-20 line.

Fantasy Impact: Hollister played well ahead of Luke Willson on Sunday, and may continue to do so going forward. Willson failed to haul in his lone target while Hollister was behind only D.K. Metcalf (nine), and Tyler Lockett (seven) in targets. Hollister narrowly edged Willson in snaps 37-34, but could see that gap increase in Week 8 against the burnable Atlanta Falcons. His upside appears limited in his current role, but is worth a look as a bye week filler in a fantasy football tight end landscape that has failed to live up to expectations.

The Minnesota Vikings D/ST allowed a season-high 30 points to the Detroit Lions in Week 7.

Fantasy Impact: While the Vikings managed two sacks, and an interception against Detroit in Week 7, the 30 points allowed kept their fantasy output to just three points. The Vikings D/ST will look to bounce back in a major way against a Case Keenum led Washington offense in Week 8. They are worth an extended look for single game DFS contests.

Tavon Austin took his lone carry for a 20 yard touchdown during Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Impact: Austin got in on the fun on Sunday Night Football, parlaying his lone touch (a carry) 20 yards for a touchdown. He saw one target in the passing game which he failed to haul in. Austin was a trendy option when Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb both appeared to be on the wrong side of questionable, but saw a limited workload with both receivers managing to suit up. Tavon was on the field for 20 percent of the team's snaps.

Tight end Charles Clay saw two Week 7 targets, hauling in one for 12 yards receiving.

Fantasy Impact: Clay managed more targets and yardage, despite less snaps than Maxx Williams (32-30) in Week 7. The tight end position remains an afterthought in the Cardinals offense despite their shift away from four wide receiver sets. Clay should remain well off fantasy radars moving forward.

Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Andy Isabella saw his first two targets of the season in Week 7 against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Impact: Isabella hauled in both of his Week 7 targets for eight receiving yards. It was a quiet afternoon for the entire Cardinals offense as no player received more than four targets during the Chase Edmonds show. Isabella played only 10 snaps, but notably saw more than fellow rookie KeeSean Johnson who had played ahead of him all year. Isabella remains a hold in dynasty leagues, and may be worth a specualtive end of the bench stash in deeper redraft formats.

Arizona Cardinals receiver Damiere Byrd hauled one of his two targets for four yards receiving in Week 7 against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Impact: Despite placing second on the team with 80 percent of the snaps, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Damiere Byrd saw just two targets in Week 7. It was a slow day at the office for Arizona Cardinals skill players not named Chase Edmonds. While Edmonds dominated on the ground, Kyler Murray put up just 104 passing yards. With Christian Kirk seemingly nearing a return, Byrd is nothing more than an ocean deep league bye week filler.

Ito Smith (head/neck) has entered the NFL's concussion protocol and has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 8 contest against the Seahawks, confirmed Falcons Head Coach Dan Quinn. (Source: D. Orlando Ledbetter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Smith was removed from the Falcons' Week 7 loss to the Rams with what were termed as head and neck injury, but follow-up tests revealed that the running back had sustained a concussion. The Falcons were not confident enough that he would clear the concussion protocol by then and have ruled him out for Week 8. Kenjon Barner or Brian Hill will backup starter Devonta Freeman.

Matt Ryan sprained his ankle in Sunday's 37-10 loss to the Rams, but the quarterback hasn't been ruled out Sunday's Week 8 game against the Seahawks, Falcons Head Coach Dan Quinn confirmed. (Source: Will McFadden on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Coach Quin "wouldn't define" Ryan 's injury as a high ankle sprain, but the veteran signal-caller's availability for Week 8 still looks to be up in the air. Monitor his practice participation status in the next few days. Matt Schaub would step in for what would be his first regular-season start since 2015.

Gareon Conley has been traded to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 3rd round pick. (Source: Vic Tafur on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Texans have been in dire need for secondary help, as their pass defense just allowed Jacoby Brissett to be the fourth QB this season to have a 300 yard, multi-touchdown performance. Perhaps a change of scenery will benefit the 2017 first-round pick, who clearly did not do enough for a Raiders team that already has their own defensive woes and just got shredded by Aaron Rodgers.

Kyle Allen was named the Panthers starting quarterback for Sunday’s Week 8 matchup against the 49ers. (Source: Joe Person on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Allen is 4-0 in Cam Newton’s absence, including four straight interception-free games. Newton is still recovering from a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot and will need more time to recover. With Allen playing so well, the Panthers are riding the hot hand until Newton is able to return. Allen will start Week 8 for now, but is a QB2 in fantasy against a stingy 49ers defense.

Bobby Wagner ended Sunday’s 30-16 loss to the Ravens with 13 total tackles (seven solo) and a forced fumble.

Fantasy Impact: Wagner is leading all Seahawks with 69 total tackles through Week 7. He should be started on a weekly basis across all leagues.

Danny Trevathan ended Sundays lost to New Orleans with 10 total tackles (seven solo).

Fantasy Impact: Trevathan is the Bears’ tackle leader with 55 through Week 7. He should be viewed as a high-end LB2 and should be started in deeper leagues.
