If anyone outside of Kyle Shanahan tells you what to expect out of the 49ers' backfield, they're lying to you. Don't forget with even less talent on the roster last year, you couldn't figure out if it would be Matt Brieda, Alfred Morris, or Raheem Mostert. We now add Coleman, who had his best years under Shanahan, and Jerick McKinnon, who will be returning from a torn ACL. It's likely to be a timeshare, though there will be valuable weeks among them, and Coleman figures to lead the charge
