Austin Ekeler Week 2 Outlook - Giants at Commanders

By Pat Fitzmaurice (FantasyPros), Fri, Sep 17th 2021, 8:14am EDT

In the Chargers' season opener against Washington, Ekeler carried 15 times for 57 yards and a touchdown, producing decent fantasy numbers even though this pass catcher extraordinaire didn't see a single target. It was the first time Ekeler had gone targetless since November 2018. That seems like an anomaly, particularly since Herbert targeted his backs 156 times in 2020. Rountree, the rookie from Missouri, appears to have won the battle for the RB2 job. He played 22 snaps, Justin Jackson played 11, and Josh Kelley didn't play.
