Ashton Jeanty Week 5 Outlook - Raiders at Colts

IT HAPPENED. As someone who was incredibly high on Jeanty going into the season, it was looking rough. If you read my Smash Starts article, you know that if he didn't come through against the Bears, I was going to have to admit defeat. What gave me hope was that his first three matchups were against top 10 rushing defenses. Last week, against a weak Bears run defense, we finally saw the Jeanty that carried Boise State in 2024. What a game. Jeanty was breaking tackles left and right, highlighted by an incredible 64-yard touchdown run. He also scored twice in the passing game and ran a route on 18 of 23 drop-backs. Seeing his big-play ability and involvement in the receiving game is perfect for fantasy managers. Unfortunately, this week they face a tough Colts defense. We have seen this offensive line crumble in tough matchups, and it could happen again this week. However, we have now seen that Jeanty can break games open and should be started as a low-end RB1 for the rest of the season.
