Freeman was sneakily one of the league's best linebackers last year excelling in both run defense and pass coverage. He missed 4 games due a suspension but still finished with 87 solo tackles. With Danny Trevathan a PUP candidate to start the season, Freeman has a good shot at being the Bears lone tackle threat on defense. Add in the liklihood that Chicago's defense is on the field at a near league-leading rate and you have 100 solo tackle potential. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio rarely blitzes his linebackers so don't expect many big plays from Freeman in that department, but he has a solid chance at fnishing in the top 5 in terms of total tackles.

Jerrell Freeman records nine solo tackles

Jerrell Freeman has been the most consistent performer on the Bears defense. He is constantly at the top of the tackles list and is hardly ever exposed. Unfortunately, his teammates are not as consistently good as the Bears lost in a bad way to Tampa Bay.

Fantasy Impact

Jerrell Freeman is a solid IDP option and if he is not owned I suggest grabbing him. He already has 81 combined tackles and 61 are solo. He is on pace for 108 solo tackles this season and a great asset to own in IDP leagues that reward heavy point totals for tackles.
