We knew big play regression was coming for Cohen in 2019, though it hit him more than anyone thought possible. Did you know that Cohen posted RB1-type numbers in 31.3 percent of his games in 2018? That ranked 12th among running backs. His lack of big plays crushed his hopes in 2019, as he went down to just 6.3 percent. Still, his floor stayed intact, highlighting he's still the same player. There's an in-between 2018 and 2019 outcome that's likely in 2020. He's never going to be a workhorse running back, but he's going to beat his current ADP.

Tarik Cohen working on durability this offseason

Bears RB Tarik Cohen told reporters he wore down towards the end of last season, and that in the offseason, he’s been focusing on durability in order to be more productive for the entirety of the 2020 campaign.

Fantasy Impact

“I’ve been doing yoga now, stretching more often and just like the small training room — in-house things you do to keep your body durable,’’ Cohen said. ‘‘And to keep the wear-and-tear of the season off of you longer. I really slacked on that. I always had older guys that would keep me on that, keep me in line.” Cohen is entering into his fourth and final year of his rookie contract in Chicago, so he’ll want to show he’s capable of holding up throughout an entire season. He’s not only become a pass-catching back, but head coach Matt Nagy likes to use Cohen in the slot as well. He finished last season with 79 receptions and 456 yards on 104 targets. He’s a solid mid-round RB3/4 in PPR leagues, but is almost unusable in standard leagues as he only had 64 rush attempts last season. He’s a solid handcuff however to starting RB David Montgomery.
