Jacob Wayne Lineups | The Buccaneers allowed the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers last season and this game has one of the higher over/under totals on the week, making Sanders an intriguing flex option. The Bucs excel against the run, meaning the Saints will need to go to the air a fair amount. Sanders showed he still has plenty left in the tank last season with the 49ers and he'll be catching passes from a future first-ballot Hall of Famer in Drew Brees. Sanders should be viewed as a strong WR4/flex option with upside this week. | |
Mike Tagliere FantasyPros | He's now 33 years old and starting with a new team. It's not going to be an easy transition but playing with Drew Brees should make it a tad easier. It's also good to know that Sanders won't have to go against top-tier cornerbacks anymore. The Bucs are likely going to play sides and not shadow, but I'd expect Sanders to see the most of Sean Murphy-Bunting in coverage most of the time. He allowed 51-of-71 passing in his coverage last year, which is a high 71.8 percent catch-rate, but they only went for 10.4 yards per reception. That's right in Sanders' wheelhouse, but it's unlikely he gets enough targets to make a big impact in your fantasy lineup. He should be good for 4-6 targets and WR4/5-type production, though he doesn't come with a massive ceiling. | It's a welcomed change of scenery for Anderson, as he moves on from Adam Gase, and back with his former college coach, Matt Rhule. He's the No. 3 option at best on the team, though, and maybe fourth option. It does help that they have a new quarterback who hasn't developed a favorite just yet. This matchup actually suits Anderson's strengths well, as the Raiders allowed 15.4 yards per reception to wide receivers, which ranked as the third-most in the league. The downside here is that Teddy Bridgewater only attempted a deep ball on 7.1 percent of his attempts last year, which ranks as the second-lowest mark in the league. Anderson offers one-play upside but relying on it in his first game is a tough task, especially considering we don't know where he lands on the pecking order. It is noteworthy that he had one of his best games against this secondary last year, posting 4/86/1 in Week 12. He's more of a tournament play this week where you're looking for the Panthers to exploit the Raiders' weakness downfield. He should be considered a boom-or-bust WR4/5 option in season-long. |
Kyle Yates FantasyPros | Sanders is stepping into this offense as the clear WR2 behind Michael Thomas. MT will see all the targets he can handle in this matchup, which doesn't leave Sanders with much left over. If you do end up starting Sanders, you're hoping for a touchdown and that's not a great spot to be as a fantasy manager. Sanders is a WR5 this week. | If you're looking for a nice FLEX option this week that could blow up and help win your matchup, it's hard to go wrong with Robby Anderson. This Panthers/Raiders game could easily turn into a shootout, which means that the Panthers are going to be throwing the ball a ton. With Anderson's speed, and the fact that he seems to be locked in as the No. 2 WR on this team, he's a solid bet to return WR3 or higher value this week. If you stole him late in your drafts, you might want to plug him into your lineup right away. |
