Your ranking may very depending on how much you think P. Lindsay will eat into Gordon's workload, the money is on the former Charger seizing a sizable advantage
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Gordon had a rough sason last year but he was substantially more effective on the ground from the time he returned that Austin Ekeler so it may have been a product of the awful Chargers' offensive line. Now that he is in Denver where Philip Lindsay ran wild the last two years, there is some serious upside with the three-down back who has totaled 47 touchdowns in the last four seasons.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
He left the Chargers at the right time, as they're going to be going through a transitional period. Instead, he joins a now-exciting Broncos offense that suddenly has tons of firepower. You don't add Gordon in free agency if you don't plan on using him as your lead back. The potential upside is that new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur has been a one-back kind of guy, so it's possible that Phillip Lindsay is just there to give Gordon breathers when he needs them. With Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler, and Noah Fant out there are receiving threats, Gordon should see a lot of light fronts this year. He's a middling RB2 with RB1 upside if they decide to give him 15-plus touches per game. Many have underrated Allen for a long time, though it may be time for the tables to turn, as I'm somewhat down on the top-tier route runner. With Tyrod Taylor and/or Justin Herbert under center, the Chargers are not going to be throwing the ball a whole lot. There were nearly 600 targets to go around last year, which could be cut down to around the 500 mark, and that would severely impact Allen's targets. Not just that, but his efficiency is likely to come down with the decline in quarterback play. His talent should help get him into WR2 territory, but I think the days of him being a WR1 are in the rearview mirror.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
When Gordon is healthy, he is capable of 1,500 yards from scrimmage and double digit touchdowns. He should be the lead back in Denver, but it will be a very crowded RBBC.Allen had another strong, but inconsistent season with 1,215 yards from scrimmage and 6 touchdowns. I do not have a lot of hope for him if QB Tyrod Taylor remains the starter, that would make him a boom / bust WR3. Rookie Justin Herbert has a better arm than Taylor, but his inexperience would hurt Allen's value too.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Gordon's going to be splitting time with Phillip Lindsay this season, but Gordon should be the lead back in this offense. The Broncos are going to want to run the ball and Gordon should easily see over 210 carries this year. He's a solid RB2 option for your fantasy rosters.Unfortunately, Allen's fantasy outlook is pretty bleak this season. The Chargers are changing offensive philosophies and the passing volume simply isn't going to be there for Allen. In my opinion, Allen's nothing more than a low-end WR2/WR3 in 2020, which means he's being over-drafted at this point.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Melvin Gordon to the Broncos is not as bad as most think. Gordon was clearly losing his role to Austin Ekeler and he now moves to an impressive run offence where he should be the clear lead guy. While Lindsay will clearly have a role, I expect Gordon to take the goal line carries, the 3rd down work and at least half of the between the tackles stuff making him the clear value in Denver. Given the Broncos backs combined for over 350 carries and 78 receptions, there's a lot of points to go around and Gordon should get the bulk of it. If Lindsay goes down there's always a chance he's a league winner too so the upside is there. Take a chance on him in the late 3rd round.Keenan Allen has been extraordinarily consistent over the last three years, locked into 100 receptions, 1200 yards and 6 TDs. That was good enough for a WR8 finish in half-PPR last year but it was a down year for receivers. In 2020 he gets a new QB in Tyrod Taylor and possibly at some stage Justin Herbert. It's not clear exactly how this will affect Allen's volume but I'd suggest it won't make as much difference as many think. I anticipate a solid top 12 season, higher in PPR, with the upside for more if things really click. He's a great value pick as he's going as the WR20 late in the fourth round.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
1 year to go off because Vic, and his OC Scangarello don't have much history at their current positions. Denver was an average ball running team in 2019. 409 attempts. The 100 RB targets were nice. Someone is going to disappear out of this offense. I think it's assumed to be Royce, I can believe that, but what roll do they plan on losing Lindsay in? Breather back? He can not pass block, Royce is the best on the team for that. So Lindsay now appears to lose out in every phase, one way or another to his teammates, might see less work than anticipated.Has always found a way to gobble up targets. Won't get a firm rank on him until a QB decision but appears to be a safe WR2. Has been on the verge of disappointing on his ADP multiple seasons, might just do it this year when he can't complain to Phil for targets, for a late season surge. Tyrod's leading WR stat line in CLE: 15 targets, 7/106 7 targets, 5/69 That concludes our sample haha. He's never had more than 3100 passing yards or 436 attempts in a season so someone is underperforming if Herbert doesn't step in, and then we're relying on a rookie QB, so...
