Fantasy Impact:
Neither McElhinney nor Garret Sparks or Calvin Pickard did much to earn the Leafs back up goaltender slot behind Frederik Andersen in the preseason, but McElhinney appears to have won the role. That said, all three potential backups survived the Leafs initial roster cuts Sunday —and three are waiver-eligible when Toronto's final roster is due at 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
