Evgeny Kuznetsov scores goal for Washington in double-overtime loss

Evgeny Kuznetsov scored a goal in the second period during the Capitals Game 7 loss to Carolina Wednesday. He also added three shots-on-goal for the game. The loss ends the season for Kuznetsov and Washington.

Fantasy Impact:

Kuznetsov finally broke out of his scoring slump, depositing his first, and only, goal of the playoffs after netting 12 during last season’s Cup run. Perhaps if he had found his scoring touch sooner the Capitals could have avoided a Game 7 entirely. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old Russian forward provided solid fantasy production this past season, operating at close to a point-per-game pace over 76 games. Expect about 70 points again next season with the potential for a bit more if things go right for Kuznetsov. Centering Alex Ovechkin regularly would certainly help his prospects.
