Cale Makar scores twice in road loss

Cale Makar found the back of the net for two goals in Thursday night's 3-2 road loss to the Minnesota Wild. He logged two goals, an even rating, a team-high five shots, one hit and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact:

One of Makar's two goals came on the power play but both were hefty wrist shots that whizzed past Andrew Stalock. His first attempt on the first goal hit the post but (as usual) Mackinnon took control of the puck and fed it back to his go-to and rifled it top corner. His second was a jim-dandy toe drag into the high danger area and went bottom right (over a laid out defender). Makar looks like Mackinnon Lite out there right now and has been huge for the Avs while they're missing Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen. Mackinnon regularly looks for him and the two have great chemistry. There's no reason to think his production is going to slow down so if you have him, congratulations. He's second only behind John Carlson with 25 points.
