Valeri Nichushkin scores game winner

Valeri Nichushkin potted the game-winning goal on Friday helping lift the Avalanche to a 3-1 victory over the visiting New Jersey Devils. He finished the game with one goal, a plus-1 rating, two shots and one hit.

Fantasy Impact:

Nichushkin beat Domingue with a wrist shot on his off hand from the top of the circle. It looked like it should of been stopped but his follow through knocked the defenders stick and could of forced his eye off the puck for a second, which was more than enough for it to go past him low blocker side. Don't look now but Nichushkin has three goals and four points through his last five games and appears to be finding his stride with his new team. His career high in goals (14) came with the Dallas Stars back in his 2013 rookie campaign and he is on pace to beat that if he's able to keep the momentum. If you're in a pinch and have an empty position to fill, give the hulking forward a look for a pop-and-drop.
