Two helpers for Makar on Wednesday

by Jeremy Farr | Avalanche Correspondent | Thu, Feb 20th 11:49am EST

Cale Makar accumulated a pair of assists in Colorado's 3-1 home victory over the visiting New York Islanders. He finished the game with two points, a plus-2 rating, two shots and three shots through 19:05 TOI.

Fantasy Impact:

Makar continues his solid rookie campaign by finding ways to get open and make plays. He assisted on Joonas Donskoi and Andre Burakovsky's goals. He looks collected and is getting pucks through from the point which are generating scoring chances for his team. There are mixed opinions on the Calder race so far as Quinn Hughes, Victor Olofsson and Elvis Merzlikins are making their cases so it will be interesting to see how the rookies fair coming down the stretch in March/April. Makar is two points behind Vancouver Canucks Quinn Hughes (47) but has played eight less games due to an early season injury. He's up to 12 goals and 33 assists.
