Joe Thornton served up the primary assist on Travis Boyd's power-play goal early into the second period as the Maple Leafs extended their lead to 2-0 over Montreal Saturday.

Thornton has suddenly gotten a slight burst of life in offensive production as he has now produced a point in his last four games. The former star forward for Boston and San Jose currently has three goals and nine points in nine games this year.
