Avalanche winning streak halted without Grubauer

by Jeremy Farr | Kraken Correspondent | Wed, Mar 24th 8:22pm EDT

Colorado had their winning streak ended at seven games when the fell 5-4 in a shootout to the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. Grubauer was off for the night.

Fantasy Impact:

The Avalanche have been hurting for a backup goalie this season due to Pavel Francouz being on the shelf indefinitely. Hunter Miska didn't look good through five starts posting a 1-1-2 record, 4.18 GAA and .838 save percentage. He was sent back to the Colorado Eagles in favor of Adam Werner but the Avs traded Buffalo a sixth round 2021 draft pick for Jonas Johansson. He appeared on March 23rd and allowed four goals on 32 shots which ended the winning streak. Grubauer is having an excellent season and must be started when he's between the pipes. He sits at 19 wins which is two behind Andre Vasilevskiy at 21. An excellent 1.71 GAA, .930 save percentage and a league-leading five shutouts. It's likely he'll be the starter on the 25th vs the Vegas Golden Knights.
