Ben Bishop loses for the first time this season

by Julius Bzozowski | Stars Correspondent | Tue, Oct 13th 11:49pm EDT

Tampa Bay Lightning G Ben Bishop took a tough loss on Tuesday night, as his team lost 3-1 to the Detroit Red Wings. The third Detroit goal came on an empty-netter, so Bishop's final line looked like this: 21 saves on 23 shots faced, for a save percentage of .913%. (NHL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

This was Tampa Bay's third game in four days, all on the road, and the second game of a back-to-back after playing in Boston on Monday. Bishop performed well, but it is not really a surprise that his teammates could not muster enough energy to give him the support. Given the scheduling circumstances, and the fact that Detroit had two off-days to prepare for this game, it was a gritty showing for the Bolts. Tampa Bay has Wednesday off, but they will get right back to it the next day as they take on the Dallas Stars on Thursday at home.
