Niklas Backstrom earned the first star in his first game of the season with two Power Play assists and then the game-winning third period goal on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Backstrom played in the second line, with Evgeny Kuznetsov remaining at center in the first line. If this arrangement clicks, the Caps top two lines will be something to see.
