Bryson DeChambeau wins the U.S. Open

by Nic Turner | Sun, Sep 20th 6:40pm EDT

27-year-old Bryson DeChambeau claimed his first career Major at the U.S. Open. At the challenging Winged Foot golf course, DeChambeau carded rounds of 69-68-70-67 to finish at six-under par.

Fantasy Impact:

It was a dominating performance for the seven-time PGA Tour winner. No other golfer finished the week under-par, and to win by a large margin of six strokes in such a strong field is truly remarkable. DeChambeau finished first in strokes gained: approach, and strokes gained: tee-to-green, while trailing only Rory McIlroy in strokes gained: off-the-tee. The champion will likely take a couple weeks off before he gets back at it on Tour.
