Matthew Wolff finishes second at the U.S. Open

by Nic Turner | Sun, Sep 20th 6:49pm EDT

Matthew Wolff was unable to maintain his lead going into the final day of the U.S. Open, but did enough to turn in an impressive second place finish. Wolff shot rounds of 66-74-65-75 to finish at even-par on the week.

Fantasy Impact:

Wolff’s five-under par round of 65 on Saturday gave the 21-year-old a two stroke lead heading into the final day. Unfortunately, Wolff’s putter ran cold and Bryson DeChambeau played brilliantly to climb ahead of him. Wolff now has two straight top-five performances in the last two Majors. He finished the week second in strokes gained: tee-to-green, and fourth in strokes gained: approach.
