Hideki Matsuyama wins 2022 Sony Open

by Matthew MacKay | Tue, Jan 18th 4:16pm EST

Hideki Matsuyama carded rounds of 66-65-63-63 to ultimately win the 2022 Sony Open with a score of 23-under-par.

Fantasy Impact:

Matsuyama wasted no time at the Sony Open, getting off to a good start at four-under-par and pulling out the win against Russell Henley in a one-hole playoff. The 29-year old Japanese native already has two wins on the PGA Tour this season and, as a result, sits atop the FedExCup rankings in first place. Matsuyama is also tenth in the Official World Golf Rankings. His last three events have yielded first, T13, and first finishes. Matsuyama currently has +3300 odds to win the PGA Championship, an enticing futures bet to lay since he is valued outside of the top 12.
