Francesco Molinari earns T6 finish at 2022 American Express

The 39-year old Italian performed consistently well at La Quinta, using an accurate driver and the Tour's top-ranked sand save percentage to scramble after producing errant shots. While Molinari struggles with his irons, he has developed a skill set with strokes gained around the green and off-the-tee. This was only Molinari's fourth event of the 2022 PGA Tour season. Still, he overcame a missed cut and a withdrawal in his previous two events by powering through to a T6 finish in the Coachella Valley this past weekend. Molinari is risky in DFS lineups, but his strong finish at The American Express shows he possesses a higher ceiling than many knew.
