The Blue Jays have won their last five games with Marco Estrada pitching

We’re inching towards the All-Star break and as suspected, the waiver wire has thinned out considerably. At this point, finding long term impact players is not the easiest task.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t any of those players out there though and the featured experts have named a few for you to consider claiming.

Q1. What pitcher should owners pick up that is owned in less than 25% of Yahoo Leagues?

Marco Estrada (SP,RP – TEX)
Yahoo Ownership: 23%
“After his near perfect game against the Rays, Estrada’s ownership percentage was boosted. But, that’s not the only reason to like him. Toronto has won five straight games when Estrada starts. Also, he has struck out at least five batters in four of his last five outings.”
Adam Meyer (Fox Sports)

Kendall Graveman (SP,RP – OAK)
Yahoo Ownership: 11%
“Graveman further illustrates that sometimes a player just needs to return to the minors to get things figured out after some initial bumps with the big club. He has not allowed more than three runs in a game since his recall on May 23, and he even qualifies at relief pitcher. He has also gone at least seven innings in each of his last four outings.”
Scott Engel (RotoExperts)

Rubby De La Rosa (SP – ARI)
Yahoo Ownership: 13%
“Despite a couple of rough outings at the beginning of June, Rubby De La Rosa remains a strong addition to any fantasy roster. He’s shown consistent ability to miss bats this season, with a 21.8 K% this year, while also keeping his walk rate reasonable, resulting in a strong 87:25 K:BB ratio over 96 innings pitched. Over his last three outings, De La Rosa has allowed just 3 runs (2 earned) over 22.0 innings pitched. He’s got a legit shot to turn in a top-30 fantasy season if he just keeps doing what he’s been doing all year long.”
Wayne Bretsky (BretskyBall)

Q2. What hitter should owners pick up that is owned in less than 25% of Yahoo Leagues?

Jung-Ho Kang (3B,SS – PIT)
Yahoo Ownership: 16%
“The shortstop position is very thin, and it certainly appears as though Jung-Ho Kang can plug a hole for owners that need it. He has done an adequate job and you’ll even see him flash some occasional power. He has been respectable in both batting average and OBP formats and he’ll even qualify at third base should you need help there.”
Scott Engel (RotoExperts)

Francisco Lindor (SS – CLE)
Yahoo Ownserhip: 19% owned
“The future has finally arrived in Cleveland. Lindor will remain the shortstop for the Indians for, hopefully, years to come. Tito Francona pencils Lindor into the two-spot and the kid delivers. He is already 7-23 (.304) against righties. Although Lindor is only batting .143 against southpaws, do not fear. In the minors this season, he was 18-55 (.327) with two home runs against LHP.”
Adam Meyer (Fox Sports)

Rougned Odor (2B – TEX)
Yahoo Ownership: 23%
“Just slipping under the 25% ownership requirement at second base, Rougned Odor has returned to the big leagues and is finally flashing some of the promise we saw last season. Throw out the miserable start to this season and consider a middle infielder who posted nine home runs and four steals with a respectable .253 average over 114 games for the Rangers as a 20-year-old last season. He was mashing at Triple-A over the past few weeks and looks like his swing is finally coming around since being recalled. Give him a look if depth issues hamper your second base or middle infield positions.”
Wayne Bretsky (BretskyBall)
