Monday is here, and we have another edition of the FantasyPros Injury Report. Let’s take a look around the majors to see who is injured and how our fantasy teams can benefit from this.

Garrett Richards (SP – LAA)
This is some unfortunate news for Richards as he will most likely need Tommy John Surgery and should be out for at least an entire calendar year. This will leave a gaping hole in the Angels’ starting rotation. Wait and see who replaces Richards in the rotation before adding anyone to your roster.
Carlos Martinez (SP – STL)
Martinez left his last start early after just 3 ⅓ innings pitched. He’s dealing with an upper respiratory illness and is viewed as day-to-day.
There is talk about his spot in the rotation getting skipped next time around. Keep an eye on this but it looks like Martinez will not need a stint on the disabled list.
Miguel Montero (C – CHC)
If Montero is available in your leagues and you need a catcher, you should pick him up. He should return on Tuesday and improve that Cubs’ lineup. If he does return Tuesday, Montero might be cold as he chose not to do a rehab assignment. Typically though, not hitting for an extended period of time affects younger players rather than veterans.
Yasmany Tomas (OF – ARI)
Tomas will not play Monday night and it will be his fourth game that he has missed due to neck stiffness. This doesn’t look like it’s something too serious but at this point,
Tomas could land on the disabled list if he continues to miss more games. In his place, Brandon Drury has really taken advantage of his playing time this year. If he somehow is available, go ahead and pick him up.
Shin-Soo Choo (OF – TEX)
Choo is starting a rehab at extended Spring Training this week. He probably is still another week or two away. Nomar Mazara has performed exceptionally well without Choo.
It looks like Delino DeShields could lose his job once Choo returns. Keep an eye on Choo’s status if you still own DeShields, as you may be in the market for a new outfielder for your team.
Yu Darvish (SP – TEX)
Darvish is now making starts at Triple-A and should be back soon with the big club. If you’ve stashed him on your bench this long, you should hopefully reap the benefits of doing just that. With Darvish pitching on the same rotation as Cole Hamels, the Rangers will have a formidable one-two punch.
Mike Moustakas (3B – KC)
Moustakas has a fractured left thumb and has been put on the disabled list. Christian Colon should see the majority of starts at third base in his absence.
Colon really doesn’t add much value unless you are in a very deep league. He has been batting eighth and really doesn’t produce enough to make the add worth it.
Jacoby Ellsbury (OF – NYY)
Ellsbury will miss his third straight game Monday night. He hasn’t been placed on the disabled list just yet, but with a strained muscle in his right hip, it seems like a visit to the disabled list is possible.
With Ellsbury’s injury history, this might not end well. Aaron Hicks has benefitted by starting in Ellsbury’s place. He is worth a pickup as long as Hicks continues to hit second in the order.
Alex Rodriguez (1B/DH-NYY)
Another Yankee who is injured is Alex Rodriguez with a right hamstring strain. He’s already been placed on the disabled list and manager Joe Girardi has said, “it’s not good.” Without Rodriguez, the Yankees depth has really been tested.
Dustin Ackley has seen some extra starts without A-Rod. Since the Yankees’ depth chart is being severely tested, keep an eye in case they make any moves that would benefit your fantasy roster.
